Maheshwar Murugesan, a Tamil teen from Cary, North Carolina, is an ambitious young entrepreneur with a passion for innovative ventures and community impact. His business, Caryeleccycles, converts standard bicycles into electric bikes, making e-bike technology more affordable and accessible. In addition, Maheshwar hosts the podcast MM Interviews, where he invites prominent guest speakers to provide career-focused advice tailored to teens. A proud accomplishment of his is interviewing the President of the University of the Ozarks during a summer program at Cornell University.
Maheshwar’s commitment to giving back to the community is evident in Visionpath Corp, his nonprofit that funds eye treatments for low-income patients. By organizing athletic tournaments, Visionpath Corp has raised nearly $10,000 to date. To address financial literacy among teenagers, Maheshwar published The Wealthy Teen, a 300-page guide offering practical financial advice to help teens plan for a successful future.
Maheshwar shares his journey on social media, building a brand that reflects his dedication and values. Driven by an interest in STEM, he is working on a patent-pending biochar nanoparticle filter for wastewater treatment and conducting research on machine learning models for predicting health outcomes like celiac disease. As a certified referee with the NCSRA, he has officiated over 150 games, and in his free time, he pursues his love of drumming, which has been a passion since age six.
